Is Trump for Real?
I just read an article by yet another journalist who asked this question, wondering if this brash, outspoken rich man is a real candidate for our presidency?
Well, just the fact that so many newscasters are stymied by his presence on the political stage is a sign that even they are out of touch with what a large portion of the American Public really thinks and wants.
Why is Trump so popular, you might ask?
Well, in my opinion, he is, first of all, an arrogant Ass! Thats right, an arrogant Ass. We have seen him pop up on TV for several decades now, spouting his personal homilies on a wide variety of subjects.
And personally, I have always responded to myself with the thought; What an Ass! But, I was also smiling as I thought this about him.
I believe the reason we are listening to him becomes obvious when we watch the other 16 Republican candidates, as well as Hillary roll out their carefully crafted BS in their staged presentations and speeches.
You know what I mean, those times when you turn on your TV and watch a newscaster interview one of these “slippery Snakes of Politics” for up to an hour.
And when the show is over, you realize that, sure their lips were moving, but they weren’t really saying anything that we the American voting public, wanted to hear from a potential president.
What we see is a verbal game of dodge-ball where questions are fielded like a hot tennis serve; but no points are taken by the newscaster or the candidate.
On the other hand, we have Mr. Trump; a man rich enough to thumb his nose at the “accepted political process” and who answers whatever questions that are thrown at him.
And damn the consequences!
Sure, almost every day, he verbally steps in a big pile of Poop. But, on the other hand, whether you agree with him or not, there is no question about where he stands on all issues placed before him.
So, is he a viable candidate? Should he be our next president?
I personally think thats a question for the large herd of other potential candidates to consider. They need to get off of their butts and start speaking the truth about what they will do if they are the one elected, and stop hiding from the hard questions.
Otherwise, for the next few months, I am going to continue to enjoy the way Mr. Trump is causing so much consternation with his fellow candidates and potential opponents.
I may not like everything he says. I may not like how he says it. But, I do love to see a man stand up and tell people what he thinks with a KMA attitude about whether anyone likes it or not.
The rest of you? Stop worrying. Our political process will eventually sort this gang of idiots out.
So, come on and jump on the Trump train.
Who knows, he may force another, real candidate out of the herd who is willing to tell us what he really thinks and really plans to do to us and our country, if elected.
Wouldn’t that be nice?
