It’s Veteran’s Day and I have already spent a good deal of my day going to a few celebrations that pop up on this day, around the country.
A Facebook comment a few minutes ago prompted me to write this as I tried to explain that what we, of my generation felt when we went into the service.
Looking Back, I can say that, to me and so many of my generation who did serve in the military, it wasn’t a task.
Many of our parents had served themselves, and to us it was simply a thing you did because you were taught that it was the right thing to do.
You just stood up and walked over to your fellow Americans who had also taken a stand, and together you formed a line; a line where you were not going to allow anyone to cross that might want to hurt or destroy our American Liberties!
It was just a gut response, but I hope it helps others who might wonder what makes a person join a branch of our military.
